If you wanna know something about the political situation in LaVergne, I’m all over it. But Nashville politics, I’m a bit lost on. Even so, I love a good “We hate this politician” website, so I found this one about Charlie Tygard to be quite amusing. And like any good anti-politician website, it has its own blog.
What do you guys think? Should he be retired from the Metro Council? Is he really a “puppet of wealthy land owners, developers, builders, real estate interests, and others that profit from Charlie’s presence in the Metro Council” as the website purports?
Charlie offered, over a lunch he paid for, to perform my wedding last year when my only other option for a secular wedding was the courthouse (and not on the date we wanted, either, which was a Sunday). He only moderately ribbed me for my politics.
I lived in Bellevue (not Tygard’s district) for seven months. The residents over there have a major case of NIMBY-ism when it comes to development, but are more than happy with escalating home values that come with that high demand driving development. If the zip code of the complainant is 37221, get a shaker of salt.
Lovely, Samantha. Thanks.
I know I don’t know the context…but who pushes a landfill on their constituents!?!?!
Ok. I was a little off. Shouldn’t he get the Boner award for his work with the landfill?
His contributors minus one are all big business and development (with a little PR thrown in.)
“…I lived in Bellevue (not Tygard’s district) for seven months.”
I’ve lived in Tygard’s district for every, unendurable minute he’s been in the Council. IMO he’s just a stooge for the developers and it started with the Branstetters, the self-appointed Royal Family of Bellevue.
