Cantalyssa writes this:

If you are the praying type, please keep Mr. Ivy in them today. For the nonprayers, general good thoughts are being accepted, too.

We are all sending our favorite HBIC good thoughts today as Bad, Bad Ivy needs them.

Hugs to Ivy and her hubby.

Oh God this type of uninformative post drives me nuts!!! What’s wrong with him?

J.D., I’m with you. That’s a very good question, to which I have no answer as of yet.

Mr. Ivy is having surgery today. She’s been keeping some of us updated on Twitter.
Sorry about the vagueness. Cantalyssa is her best bud.

Newscoma’s right, Jim’s having surgery today. They just took him in for the second part of the surgery, the first part went well, and that was the part we were worried about.

He has a 21mm kidney stone that has to be removed the “old fashioned way”- surgically removing it rather than lasering it out.

Oh gosh. Which kind of surgery? Is it going up through the urethra to crush and capture or is it the sawing-him-open thing?

Man, do I feel for the guy right now…

Dang!

Where should I send the drugs? ;) Hope he gets to feelin’ better ASAP.

It’s the sawing him open thing. Yeah. Oy.

Katherine Coble on 28 September, 2007 at 2:59 pm #

Oh dear God. That’s horrible.

Been there, got the souvenir scar to prove it. He’ll be fine, Ivy. He’s pretty much a homebound invalid for the next six weeks, though. (Oy. Tell him not to try driving at four & a half weeks. I never new how many stomach muscles that uses!)

Sorry to be vague, since Ivy hadn’t put it on her own blog, I didn’t know how much was deemed OK for the public at large.
