We’ve most of us had some sad, interesting, harrowing or funny stuff going on. Checking in on a few folks…

megaphonic @ it’s all ashes in the end

this past weekend, while i was in nyc, both my great-nana (great-grandmother) and my nana (grandmother) passed away. great nana on saturday and nana on sunday.

thank you all for your continued prayers as my family and myself work through this. great nana’s funeral is on thursday in Massachusetts. there will be a small memorial service for my nana in huntsville, al on saturday at noon and another one in massachusetts on october15 before she is buried at the long island national cemetery in new york with full military honors.

these things are tough right now, and i want to write more, but i can’t do it right now. but i will. later.

Well, we’re drawing close to the end of week two with Katie back and work and C being shuffled between my office and my mom’s house. We’ve had a few hiccups, but I think we’re going to be ok.

C is simply a wonderful little creature, and I am overwhelmed by how much I love her. I don’t always get as much work done while she’s at the office, and it can be frustrating finding time to eat lunch, but all the cons are made up for by her quiet snores, cute baby smiles, and general wonderfulness.

Klinde @ You Say Potato, I say Kartoffel

Here is a view of woman versus toilet. It’s the first view the German had of my eye as he has been in Nova Scotia since the beginning of the month and just got home last night. He shook his head and shrugged then broke out his camera.

Reba @ In Reba’s World

I am doing a happy jig! I just found out one of my favorite music artists is coming to town and then I just bought tickets!

Now I know that most all music comes through Nashville, but this is an artist who has not even hit over here. She is very popular down under and in parts of Europe, but here in America she is not really known. I am talking about Brooke Fraser.

Dan @ Eastside Cyclist

The wife called from the beer store and told me. I was giddy. Yuengling has finally made it to Nashvegas. OH YEAH!

Kerry Woo @ WonderDawg

This is it — the final meeting of the Nashville Palm Users group. After 8 years, we’ve had over 80 monthly meetings and spent approximately 240 hours talking about Palm OS face-to- face; posted over 2,300 online discussions, served up terabytes of bandwidth and exchanged countless e-mails and it all comes to an end this Saturday.

But we’re going out with a bang!

This Saturday is a celebration, a celebration of our love of Palm OS and all the many years that we’ve shared maximizing our use of our beloved PDAs and Smartphones.

Aunt B. @ Tiny Cat Pants

What I’d really rather be doing today is spending it on the couch under an afghan half-napping and half-watching HGTV, or maybe a scary movie. I kind of feel like the freak-out about yesterday’s news is stuck in my chest like a defective burp and I’d like to just lie still and let it work its way out.

I don’t know how to explain how I feel. Intellectually, I feel fine. I am as sure as sure can be that it’s just scar tissue or–a little more disturbing–this gunk that seems to be pretty common in the lungs of people who live near the Mississippi and Ohio.

Ivy @ The Badbadivy Experience

[My Daughter] has to go to a pediatric dentist and have 2 teeth pulled and space maintainers put in. For those of you that are keeping track, yes, I was already wiped out financially by Jim’s surgery and funeral expenses related to my grandma’s death. How am I going to come up with the money for this? It’s a mystery, but I will figure it out. I always do.

Brittney Gilbert

We got to our hotel room room when the boyfriend got a call. His grandfather died today.

I’m always fascinated by the lives of bloggers with their ebb and flow. When I look over my feed reader and see all the births and deaths and joys and pains it makes me extra glad to be able to know all of these people in one form or another. People are a gift, and when they share themselves with you in any way it’s a blessing.

Katherine, I think it’s your ability to knit all these threads into a thoughtful post that’s the amazing part.
