Frank over at Left of the Dial makes an observation…
First of all, what’s this crap about there being no “buzz” in Tennessee (this means YOU, Nashville) surrounding tonight’s game?
I could be missing it, but as I’ve been out and about and fielded emails and phone calls, I’m just not feeling like Nashville is all aflutter about the postseason possibilities.
That was the Tennesseean’s Paul Kuharsky in a blog post earlier this week.
Anyone buying into that? Or was tonight’s game simply buried by the hype surrounding last night’s quest for perfection by the New England Patriots?
I’ve seen several posts about the game lately. Granted, it’s not THE top story in the state nor should it. But there’s Music City Miracles, Sharon Cobb and…. and….
Shit. Maybe Kuharsky’s right.
Well, I’m excited! Frank has listed EVERY blog and website dedicated to tonight’s game over at his place, so go check it out!
I’m laughing at the Jax/Hou game, presently.
.
The buzz is “The Titans won’t make it past the first round, so why get worked up about it?”
Sacastro, if the Titans get in, they WILL beat the Chargers. Heck, they already have, come to think of it. CBS just didn’t have enough camera angles to make it official.
True! True!!!
I’ve got a mini-party-grillout going on for the game tonight.
I’ve also been arguing with a friend who’s a fan of the Patriots, and I suppose I’ll concede that even with their cheating scandals they might deserve some modicum of respect. But then I think back to last year’s December 31st New Year’s eve home game when they beat the Titans, denying us the playoffs, when they didn’t have any vested interest in winning that game and I get get worked up all over again.
Jealous. Much.
Tonight, I’m hoping Big Al gets to sit on Peyton’s face, long time…
(For you sensitive types, I’m grilling some victimized beef…)
Reality check. We have a quarterback with nine touchdowns and seventeen interceptions on the season. Add in the ten fumbles, a 69.5 QB rating and a Wonderlic score comparable to golden retriever.
I’ll take San Diego if you care to make this interesting.
I’m not ready to take that bet yet, because I’m not convinced we’re going to win tonight. It depends on which version of the defense shows up. The one that looks like the 85 Bears, or the one that looks like the 85 Benglas. You never know with this team.
We will go as far as our defense (especially Haynesworth) takes us. I mean, crappy QB and all, we still may win 10 games this year. We’re a lot like the Chicago Bears of last year. Although I think in a few years, Vince Young will be a premiere QB, and Rex Grossman will be selling insurance in Aurora.
I’d rather watch the Independence Bowl actually.
