Beale, you got that burn list handy?

So, according to “truth,” what is the appropriate punishment for a woman that speaks in Church?

My only problem with absolute truth is that no one can know it absolutely.

Thank you for highlighting my post “Truth and Truthiness”.

As for the comment above about punishing women who speak in church, this is yet another example of “truthiness” triumphing over “Truth”.

The Truth demonstrated by Christ (and throughout the Bible) is that women play a very strong and active role in carrying out God’s mission.

Some folks wrongly take two or three Scripture verses out of context and conclude that women should always be silent in church and take no lead in ministry.

The purpose for the Apostle Paul’s instructions was to prevent chaotic speech during worship. Women, regretably, were targeted as the culprits.

When we interpret God’s Word, we need to consider it in context and allow the whole Bible, not just parts we like, to shape our lives and faith.

Thanks again for the link.
