Hi, my name is Claudia and I write a silly little food blog. I’m not much into politics or religion but for the record please note that I think Bush will go down in history as one of the worst presidents in our history and I’m a liberal minded gal born and raised in NYC - a non-observant pork eating Jew/wannabe Buddhist who’s lived here for 14 years steeped heavily in the world of songwriters. I believe that in the end, there is no heaven – and that it all means nothing, except what you make it mean. And in about 150 years at the very most no one will know who 99+% of any of us were, including our own great-grandchildren. We are but grains of sand and we worry too much about our hair.
So now that we’ve got that out of the way, Let’s Eat!
Ivy and Ginger have invited me to be the Food Editor here at MCB. So I will do my part to fill you in on what’s happening on the Nashville restaurant front, perhaps clue you in on a few locally available products that might be worth knowing about - and of course, what’s for dinner.
And hey, I sure would appreciate some help. So, if anyone sees something that would make for a good food post or a cool cooking blog that I may not have come across in my virtual travels, please email tips@musiccitybloggers.com.
Now get in the kitchen and cook something fabulous, will you?
Claudia:
I will work for food(writing). It might have drawn me out of my self-imposed seclusion but the fact that you seem to understand that the Idiot-in-Chief is really not a very good president made it a no-brainer.
Me love food and food writing. Ever read Harold McGee’s stuff?
harold mcgee is BRILLIANT. i have his book ‘ON FOOD AND COOKING - the science and lore of the kitchen’. it is FASCINATING to say the very least. i did a post on molecular gastronomy and talked about him - he coined the phrase ‘the science of deliciousness’. anyway - nice to meet you and i hope to hear from you some more!!!
[…] This is funny. After telling us that she authors a food blog and that she isn’t interested in politics or religion, the new food editor of Music City Bloggers says this: ….but for the record please note that I think Bush will go down in history as one of the worst presidents in our history and I’m a liberal minded gal born and raised in NYC - a non-observant pork eating Jew/wannabe Buddhist who’s lived here for 14 years steeped heavily in the world of songwriters. I believe that in the end, there is no heaven – and that it all means nothing, except what you make it mean. […]
hey there - just a means of introducing myself so the peoples know who i am and where i stand! glad i could amuse you! hope to see your comments here often!
Oh Glen, why don’t you just go …. with a …. with all of that ….
*winks*
Welcome, Claudia!
*SNORK* at DB Carden’s reply to Glen…
I’m full of SNORKS today!
Must be the weather…
Soup’s on! I enjoy your “silly little blog” and can’t wait to see what you pull together for us here.
Claudia, your post reminds me of that old joke:
A Buddhist monk walks up to a hot dog vendor and says, “Make me one with everything.”
I kill me.
Welcome aboard. Your perspectives will always be honored by these bleary eyes.
thanks to ALL of you for the warm welcome.
CeeElCee - you are one truly funny son of a gun…
CeeElCee is on a roll today.
I wonder if it’s kaiser or sesame seed?

Easy yall. Claudia and I are buds now and after going to her site and viewing her About page, she’s quite a dish herself.
Claudia - great writing..your blog makes me hungry. Glad you’re here.
CeeElCee:
The second half of that joke is when the guy gives the Buddhist a $20 and gets nothing back. He finishes the dog and says “I need change”, to which the vendor replies, “Change comes from within”. Hey, I’ll be here all week, try the toveal.
Claudia:
I have, “On Food And Cooking” and “The Curious Cook”. I’ve also got a lot of other good reads by lots of food authors and some great cookbooks. Unfortunately, my house currently lacks a stove (and the wiring, plumbing and heating that help so much to make a house a home!). I was looking at cooktops and wall ovens the other day. But, when I found out that I could buy a nice five burner range and gas oven for less than half of what a cooktop and wall oven were going to cost–well, that kind of decision just makes itself.
I’ll check out your homepage.
oh, now this is all so up my alley… i actually spent summers and family vacations on the borscht belt. tru the veal… priceless…
i have a serious kitchen set-up over here. partially because i bought the house from caterers and partially because my mom replaced my GE double wall ovens (basic) with a set-up that is equal to a good used car. my stovetop is commercial. like really commercial. as in slightly bigger gas lines for residential than what codes allows. it’s not frilly but the BTU’s are a thing of beauty…
it is definitely a cook’s kitchen and if i ever move - which i might - i doubt i will ever be able to recreate what i’ve got going on here…
now go get your place all wired up and plumbed. a guy’s gotta eat!
Been out of the loop a couple of days but I just wanted to say that I’m glad to see your post here and on with the food porn!!
Claudia:
The National Grid rep who came out to survey my house, so they could run a service to the house from the street, asked what I was putting in for appliances. When I told him he said, “Well we usually only put in a 250KBtu/hr meter.” Guess, I’ll have to forget the pizza oven or the reduction kiln for my pottery.
but the key word was “usually…”
a pizza oven. it’s probably a blessing. i’d weigh 200 lbs in 6 months with one of those…
lucky for me I ALREADY weigh a deuce–and that’s after losing 20 from shivering. S’okay. I’ll just grill the pizzas.
