We have another stamp hike today and Chip isn’t happy.

No sooner than I was done with those I bought the new 39 cents stamps in the 100 count roll.  And wouldn’t you know it, they would raise the rate again.  This time to 41 cents.  WTF?

Again, I say, what’s up with that?  Last I heard, the US Postal Service was out of debt and had a great thing going.

No wonder why I’m starting to use E cards.

guess he should’ve bought “forever stamps” instead. btw, the postal service will be raising their rates about once a year from here on out - probably every May (according to an article in the Tennessean this AM).

I thought it was going up from 41 to 42 cents… am I wrong?

I thought it was 43 cents.

The whole thing is a farce. I am old enough to remember 6-cent stamps and the postal worker’s strike. This is what happens when you take a perfectly good government agency and try to make it run like a corporation. Benjamin Franklin is rolling in his grave.

Sorry. Been doing that crazy thing called my job today.
Here it is and it’s official:
$42 cents!
Man, it’s why I use my computer for bills and correspondence. I haven’t sent a letter in about a year. :)

Me too. In the exceedingly rare instance that I need to actually mail something, I just run it by the post office and pay the exact postage. That way I never get stuck with a book/roll of stamps that are too small (nor do I have to keep “penny” stamps around).

I still have a few partial books of Christmas stamps ($.37) and a bunch of other weird stamps that I just bundle together when I send something out as “media mail”.
