Business Plan

Music City Bloggers was conceived as an open-contribution online magazine with a focus on local voices and community.

When we created this forum we envisioned a place where members of the community would benefit from the larger forum exposure and be able to share in the ad revenues that come with higher viewership.

Our plan is to use the first six months–the remainder of Calendar Year 2007–to build readership, expand our contributors’ list and refine our voice. After those first six months we hope to re-evaluate our financial position to include an ad revenue share or a pay-per-post contribution model.

When Nashville Is Talking was first conceived by Terry Heaton and Mike Sechrist, there was much discussion about creating a bulk ad-buy business model using community blogs. We hope to follow through on that vision in a way that will profit every member of our community. We plan to keep all of you posted on our progress in the meantime.

The current operational structure is:

Administration:Owner: Ivy Hogan (BadBadIvy)

Community Manager: Ginger Eldridge (GingerSnaps)

Marketing & Technical Consultant: Kate O’Neill (Kate O)

Editorial Board:

Political Co-Editor: Ned Williams (WisdomIsVindicated)

Each of these folks brings a contribution to the ongoing success of Music City Bloggers, and has put in many long hours behind the scenes to make this a reality for everyone.
